About Charlotte

friend once told me “if you want to live in a great community you have to play an active role.” As someone who grew up in Chapel Hill-Carrboro and returned here from Hilton Head Island to raise my kids – I believe in our community and all the variety it offers. My mom ran a successful business here for over 35 years (Dance Design) and my family started a nonprofit (SKJAJA Fund) to give children in Chapel Hill-Carrboro access to opportunities. I enjoy giving time to others – from helping my friends and family to PTAs and local nonprofits. I like to think I play an active role in my community.

In addition to giving time I like to have fun – whether it be work or play. As I said before, branding and marketing are fun – it’s what I’ve done my entire career – and if it wasn’t fun I wouldn’t still be doing it. Other fun things: the beach, dancing, meeting new people, yoga, live shows, Tar Heel basketball, trying new things and traveling. I am partial to purple, Prince and Carolina blue and look forward to getting to know you and helping your unique story come alive through words and visuals! Let’s talk: 919.360.4920.

After working as a student at UNC-CH’s The Daily Tar Heel in the advertising department and then as sales manager, I took a job at a local advertising and marketing agency in my hometown of Chapel Hill. In my review I was told, “You could sell a used car to a blind man but would NEVER do that because it is not the right thing to do.” They were so right, and I have lived by that for my entire management and client services career. I only “sell” what I truly believe will help a client grow their business through a true partnership – that is White Space Creative.

My adult life has been in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham – that was as far as I could see myself removed from my roots – well except for traveling! Volunteering and working in my community are a way of life for me. I have served on the boards of directors of local nonprofits and was crazy involved in my children’s schools from running the Book Fairs and PTAs to their sports booster clubs.

I have known Charlotte – well, for almost forever! I cannot imagine my life without her and her family including her older sister (one of my best childhood friends and college roommate.) I am lucky to continue that friendship and do what I love with someone with talents that I am in awe of daily! We have fun doing what we do every day.

Oh, yea – speaking of fun, I love family, our three cats, people, Kerr Lake, skiing, soccer, anything Tar Heel-related, living in a place with ALL four seasons, fresh air, and fire pits.
