The Doula Doc

Two-sided business card: The Doula Doc on one side, Dr. T. Brown Healthcare Solutions on the other

Talitha is a surgeon and a doula. The brand had to hold both, without either one canceling the other out.

The Starting Point

Talitha already had a business entity — Dr. T. Brown Healthcare Solutions, LLC — but her public-facing work was going to be doula work: birth and postpartum support. And “Dr. T. Brown Healthcare Solutions” was a mouthful — clinical, formal, and not remotely warm enough for the audience she actually needed to reach.

Someone choosing a doula isn’t looking for a healthcare solutions provider; they’re looking for a person they can trust in one of the most vulnerable stretches of their life.

But the surgeon credential wasn’t something to hide — it was real, earned expertise that added serious credibility. The challenge wasn’t picking one identity over the other. It was building a brand that could hold both truths without either one undercutting the other: warm enough to be chosen as a doula, credible enough to still be taken seriously as Dr. Brown when that side of the work called for it.

What Happened

Rather than force a single identity to do double duty, the solution split the difference deliberately:

 Star Chart

The Brand Explore process shaped everything — name, messaging, visuals — around what her actual clients needed to feel, not around the technically accurate but cold original name.

The Doula Doc + Dr. T. Brown Healthcare Solutions
Became the public-facing brand — the name, warmth, and tone built entirely around the birth and postpartum work. Dr. Brown stayed intact underneath, still hers, still real — just not leading with the parts of her audience that needed warmth first.

A Logo that Holds Both Sides

The caring of the doula (a heart) combined with the stethoscope of the doc. In the mark, the stethoscope tubing forms the heart, so one symbol carries both. The tagline, Empathy. Expertise. Education., says the same thing in words.

 Multi-page Website
Showcasing both sides — built as a robust online home for the doula work and the doctor work, with space for educational resources that can grow over time. Because of her varied schedule, it was important to integrate online scheduling into the site.

 Print + Digital Business Cards
Made the split tangible: The Doula Doc on one side, Dr. T. Brown Healthcare Solutions on the other, letting Talitha hand someone exactly the identity that conversation called for.
